Quote:
CNN is a ratings mess right now, and the cable news channel is bringing in the guy who talent-scouted Glenn Beck, Nancy Grace, and Joy Behar to fix it. It's getting its clocked cleaned by Fox News, and TPTB finally are doing something about it. But is it too late? CNN today announced that 6-year president Jonathan Klein is being replaced by sister channel HLN's Ken Jautz, who now becomes the EVP of CNN/U.S. At one time known as Headline News, HLN is now the scandal channel -- and ratings have surged. What this portends for bland and boring CNN I don't even wanna predict. Chief marketer Scot Safon will take over HLN.

I have all kinds of negative things to say on this but what is the point, Americans will have access to just about zero truth real soon, on tv that is...and isnt the internet the next target?

I wish I could live another 200 yrs to see how this all shakes out...

Well, MSNBC is ALSO kicking CNN's ass. And what CNN views as their weakness is not their news gathering/broadcasting. (The US still turns to CNN in record numbers when there's breaking national news) Rather, their personality/pundit-driven shows are their big losers.

The odd thing about the timing of this changeover is that the outgoing guy has JUST put his first marks on the current schedule, and there's no clue how those two moves would/will work out. That's Eliot Spitzer's new show, and hiring Larry King's replacement.

It's follow the leader instead of become the leader. But then that means you might have to have an original thought.

I am lucky to have an escape from the American dribble by being able to get BBC World on the satellite.

10 Years ago CNN HLN was excellent in reporting world events but it is over..................Behar started out good but now it's mare faux news about entertainers and their trivails..............

I turned on the Tv at 7 while having pizza and flicking around I hit CNN showing Sarahahahaha at some Cali rally. I tried to listen but it was her same old shit---complain but don't offer alternatives, and yet the crowd was cheering............

Why does CNN put someone, who is not running, has never held federal office on TV? Is it to show how useless she and her followers are, or am I missing something.............

What would work wonders for ratings is actual investigative reporting. The truth. No agenda for either side. Just the truth.

CNN and Fox Ignore Small Crowd Sizes and Palin Being Booed in Their Coverage of 'Tea Party' Tax Day Protests

After two years of watching CNN and Fox play up these "tea party" rallies as some huge grass roots political movement that's taking over the country and doing live wall to wall coverage of these events when they had some decent crowds show up, now we get this on the two year anniversary of the first tax day protest by these astroturfers.

Sarah Palin gives a speech while being booed by most of the crowd that showed up in Wisconsin to greet her. And the Donald and his comb-over show up in Florida to throw some red meat at a rally there, and both CNN and Fox choose to only show a few minutes of both events and do not let anyone see what the size of the crowd was at either. Gee, I wonder why?

Could it be that showing that either event didn't have a big turnout would not be good for their narrative that this is some actual, large, grass roots movement? Could it be that they didn't want their audience to hear Palin being booed if they showed the entire speech she gave? Could it be that they really didn't want the American public to hear all of what either of them had to say? Could it be that they didn't want the public to know that most of the people who showed up at the Wisconsin rally who were against Palin, and from the accounts I've read, far outnumbered the ones who showed up in support of her? And why no coverage of Andrew Breitbart out there telling everyone to "go to hell" and screaming that "class warfare is un-American." Could it be that they don't think it's too good for the Republican Party to let most of America hear from that raving lunatic as well who was out there introducing Palin?

Here's the footage of the "tea party" events today from CNN.

I kind of feel bad for Joy. I think she started thinking this was her big chance to do real issues with meaning. Then she finds they really just wanted their own piece of The View.

CNN cough reporter cough RandiKaye of CNN apparently put Breitbart on the air. And with this a smear that a functional media would have immediately dismissed gets legs. Feel free to get on Twitter and school Ms. Kaye about the concept of 'fact checking'.

CNN will never catch up to Fox because Fox is a tier 1 cable program and CNN is tier 2. Tier 1 programming is either free or cheapest.Tier 2 cost some money and CNN, MSNBC reside there.

That was genius, create a network, one of only 4, then use that to assure your propaganda machine will have unlimited access...assume that is how it happened but not sure

STOP THE WORLD I WANT OFF.................

I used to watch Fareed Zakaria pretty regularly when he was on PBS but when he went to CNN I didn't. Most likely because of his time slot. I guess if I really wanted to watch I would have found a way, but never did.

Well today I happened to be in front of the TV for lunch and on comes his show.

He chit chats a bit about how pathetic America's infrastructure is and how it has slipped and asks who is going to pay for the repairs and upgrades?

He then announces this ;

We have an all-star GPS panel. Joining us will be Reuters Global Editor-at-Large Chrystia Freeland; and the British historian Andrew Roberts and conservative commentator Ann Coulter

Why didn't he just have Rush Limbaugh on?

It has to the producers of his show to have someone as unqualified as Mann to be in on a debate with these 2 scholars.

I will add that as soon as the camera confirmed what I had just heard, I turned the TV off.

I am trying to find the producers e-mail to send them my thoughts on this guest.

I wonder how the other 2 guests felt about this?

PS; Spitzer was there to but he works for cnn...........
