About a week ago in the Metro Detroit area, our strong liberal station, WDTW, had a lineup change. Years ago, I wrote an email to the programmers, about the overnight and weekend radio slots, that were broadcasting FIXED NEWS, after Air America went down. Apparently I was their one listener, and they changed their lineup for me! So last week, they came on with this announcement on air that Stephanie Miller's show was being moved from her morning slot to 10 O'clock at night. So I fired up the old email machine, and got in touch with the program director, I knew from another great Motown station that UNCLEAR CHANNEL, had screwed and up and destroyed. And I kind of got the feeling they thought people would stop listening with Stephanie's move to Current TV.

The PD told me they were making these changes for revenues sake, and I told her on a liberal station it's not always about making money, because these hosts are like our family and friends. They get us through the day with laughter, pain, and information that let us know we have something to fight for and defend against the wacked out right. So they kept Stephanie on for awhile, inserted Jeff Santos on for one hour in the afternoon, and moved Randi's show back to 7 p.m. So OUT WENT ANOTHER EMAIL thinking Randi's show had been bumped all together when I didn't hear it at it's usual Detroit time of 6 o'clock. She comes on at 7, my attack posting on the WDTW Facebook page is ERASED, and sorry is my new word for the day. And the PD always wrote me back! But I still warned her of taking a proven radio talent off the air, for a guy you could've found behind a BURGER KING broadcasting. SO......

Wednesday comes, and Stephanie's show has been REMOVED. And this Michael Patrick Shiels comes on from Lansing Michigan. I was groggy, and heard the start and the very end of the show before Ed Schultz came on. He sounded MID MICHIGAN WIMPY, but I said I'd give him a chance. So Thursday comes and I listen to this guy an hour, and out comes the CIVIL DEFENSE HORNS AND DOPPLER RADAR FOR A POSSIBLE $#IT STORM WATCH! This guy, talked about the Michigan cherry crop being bad, and MINT JULEPS, you know, hard liberal news! So I wait, and later that day go to the Facebook page, and there were the many attacks towards the station, this Shiels guy, and people screaming they would never listen again. But, IT GETS BETTER.......

So Tony Trupiano, who also caught hell when Bill Press' show got dumped for LOCAL PROGRAMMING, came on the Friday morning show telling us how he listened to the new guy, and how he had gotten so many ANGRY AND PISSED OFF emails and callers defending Stephanie. Tony said it got so out of hand, he had to devote one hour of the Thursday show just to let callers vent. But he also said he he was taking all of that and giving it management, to let them know how the callers felt. Then he read a statement that said management was getting together later that day, to figure out what they would do, and a decision would be reached on Monday. So I let the PD know about the Facebook comments, and told her I have every confidence she would get it right. She wrote me back yesterday saying, the decision is now OUT OF HER HANDS, and that her bosses would decide the stations fate!

So............as I write this, I await for the station to come back on at 6 a.m to let us know what happened! But before it does, let me say this about the new guy. He was put into a bad situation, and should've been allowed to grow his audience in a time slot where FAMILY MEMBERS are not on the air, like the weekend. And if he sucked, like he truly does, then he would've been just another weekend show, or one that had a loyal following with a chance to go big time, and wait for one of those KEITH OLBERMANN openings to happen. But seriously, if I had the choice of eating a hot dog, or hearing this Sheils guy, I'D LIKE MUSTARD ON THAT HOT DOG PLEASE! And when you hear this guy, he brings up memories of DOUGLAS NEIDERMEYER from Animal House, and the guy who replaced Robin Williams character in Good Morning Vietnam. But the Facebook fans said he is REPUBLICAN LIGHT, and that's all we need to know.

WDTW, had the PERFECT LIBERAL LINEUP, and F'ED IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FREE STEPHANIE MILLER AND THE MOOKS!

Like I daid in another thread, what you should tell this station's GM is that you will lead a challenge to the station's license because the are not serving the public interests. According to their own communications, they are profit oriented. There has to be a balance. The only reason they aren't making money in Detroit is because they are lazy. They can sell a progressive station there or they should be fired.

Well, STEPHANIE AIN'T ON THE RADIO at her old time! As the PD wrote me back, the decision was taken out of her hands and the SUITS from UnClear Channel, has made the etched in stone move to stick with the RIGHT WING LIGHT GUY! The story from Metro Detroit, Hawaii, and parts unknown, is that the loyal family like members of WDTW, have found OTHER stations to listen to from 9 to 12 on weekday mornings. AND THESE PEOPLE ARE PISSED! UnClear Channel, who also employs one RUSH LIMBAUGH, blew through here a few years ago when they destroyed the number one sports station in the market WDFN, which was a pillar in the community for charities, and like family to it's listeners. So they've swooped in again, and left their businessmen's cologne odor, counted the coins, and WENT TOTALLY AGAINST THE WISHES OF THE PEOPLE! We will screw them this time by LISTENING TO SOME OTHER STATION that plays Stephanie Miller at that time slot. Or we'll just do it the old fashioned way, TURN THE RADIO OFF! SCREW YOU CLEAR CHANNEL! The crap has hit the fan!

Challenge the stations license

Well, in case you were wondering, WDTW, stuck their heads in the sand, ignored the people, and now we have this WIMPY, LIMP, WEIRD, Micheal Shiels on the air. Oh yea, and me and many others have chosen to ignore that station from 9a.m. to 12 noon. I woke early before Ed came on, and the topics I heard again were, MICHIGAN CHERRY CROPS, MINT JULIPS, and HOOKERS! The guy was holding conversation with a CALL GIRL/HOOKER! Now that's gut twisting, hard hitting, LIBERAL JOURNALISM RADIO FOR YA!
