Cain Camp Blames Perry for Sexual Harassment Leak

We knew it was someone, we even knew there was a possibility that it was another presidential campaigner. Now we know that Herman CainHerman Cain’s camp is blaming Rick PerryRick Perry’s campaign for leaking the sexual harassment scandal.
Politico first reported that two women were compensated for sexual harassment by Cain when he was head of the National Restaurant Association. There are reports that a third woman has come forth. Cain’s campaigners have been looking for the rooster that crowed. Today, they strutted their feathers and sharpened their talons against Rick Perry.
Mark Block, Cain’s campaign chief of staff, told Fox News; “This is one of the actions in America that is the reason why people don’t get involved in politics. The actions of the Perry campaign are despicable. Rick Perry and his campaign owe Herman Cain and his family an apology.”
Curt Anderson, former Cain consultant, and Chris Wilson, former pollster for the restaurant association, are now pro-Perry people. Wilson is part of the pro-Perry "super political action committee."
Neither man has admitted to leaking the story of Cain’s impropriety to the press. Cain is expecting an apology from Politico and Anderson and Wilson.
Anderson stated; "I've known Herman Cain for about seven years. I was one of several consultants on his Senate race in 2004 and was proud to help him. I'd never heard any of these allegations until I read them in Politico, nor does anything I read in the press change my opinion that Herman is an upstanding man and a gentleman."
Perry campaign spokesman Ray Sullivan stated; “no one at our campaign was involved in this story in any way. Any claim to the contrary is patently false. The first we learned of it was when we read it in Politico

Of course, the lovely irony is that making this accusation requires him to yet AGAIN change his claims of the entire previous day, those about having no recollection of the events, and of having not given any of it a thought or discussion since then. But NOW he remembers the ONE conversation he has had about it - 8 years ago when he told a campaign worker all about it, someone who is now on Perry's team.

Especially hilarious is the pointless bullshit about "who told?" Who gives a fuck who told? certainly no one outside of Cain's campaign. Everyone else is paying attention to the fact that there was something to tell.

I don't think he has any motive in it. Rove's man is Romney, and as long as Cain is there he's CERTAINLY not going to steal the nomination from Romney, but he serves the purpose of keeping the other back-benchers (Bachmann, Perry, et al) from rising up to a level where they might credibly challenge Romney.

No, it seems to me this has most likely been the work of somebody who simply thinks Cain is a dickhead, probably someone who was close to or part of the National Restaurant Assoc. when Cain was in charge. It COULD have been one of the women involved - though I doubt it - but it could just as easily have been someone who was a best pal of one or both women back then, someone who has been greatly dismayed seeing him regarded with respect by some these days. If not a one-time friend of one or both women (acting without their knowledge), it could just as easily have been someone who was an exec then, someone who then and now regards Cain as abrainless bag of shit.

In decades of covering politics, yeah, I've had a fair number of tips from opposition, or tools of the opposition. But I think it's fair to say an equal or even greater number came from people 100% uninvolved in the current political process, they've just always HATED the SOB they're ratting out. And after that, there's a HUGE contingent of people who are just plain old busy bodies who like to make life miserable for others, as long as they leave no finger prints. So, that's where I'm guessing this germinated with regard to Cain.
