Well as Dan pointed out on the Olbermensch, Santorum basically wants to cut off federal benefits, because in his racist little cranium, he associates black people with welfare, and welfare with laziness. He's got a real "damned dirty apes" thing going on in his mind, he's just learned as many modern-day racists have, to couch his hate in language that simultaneously gives him faint deniability, but also uses so-called "dog whistle" terms that fellow racists will cleave to.
VIDEO LINK - SANTORUM ANTI-STRAIGHT AGENDABut what I like about the video on the link above, is that Dan also points out the truth about Santorum's attacks on gays.
This isn't just about gay sex. Santorum's got a stick up his as when it comes to ANY sex, even straight, boring missionary sex. This guy wants to stick his nose into EVERYBODY's bedroom and tell them what to do.I was listening to the Jimmy Dore Show on KPFK here in L.A. like a week or two ago, and he'd gotten ahold of tape of
Santorum speaking off the cuff to a supporter on the campaign trail, talking about how "many Christians accept the idea of contraception", and they "shouldn't, because it means a tacit acceptance of a corrupt lifestyle where sex is free."Well yes, Rick. Yes it does. It means a world where sex is free, open, healthy,
less dangerous, less likely to create a baby when people aren't ready, more likely to lead to women being independent, and all around less SHAME.
And that's what Rick Santorum REALLY wants. He wants this country to go back to a world where sex itself was a shameful thing.Seriously, this guy has got some really deep-seated psychological issues. And we all know, you cannot be that tightly wound, without it breaking out into REAL perversion -- I mean like a guy who needs to start a war because he can't shoot his own "missile" off (otherwise known as "Cheney Syndrome"), or something twisted like hurting kids. Truly warped shit.
If Santorum manages to stick around for more than his regulation 15 minutes of fame, I can practically guarantee some horrible revelation about his private life. And if there ISN'T, you should be MORE worried, because it means he's more likely the Cheney Syndrome type, and those are the really dangerous fuckers.
I'm not concerned even remotely with him getting the nomination. Iowa is just the GOP's fantasy hour, where their absolute worst impulses are always on display. It's as if they get one, "Well if you could REALLY vote for who you wanted, and have the country run that way, who would you pick?" moment, and this is the kind of batshit crazy they'd go for.
So again, this is Randi's, "When they tell you who they are, BELIEVE THEM," moment.
But what is more likely is that Romney takes the nomination, but puts either Santorum or Gingrich on the ticket as VP to shore up his conservative nutbag cred, which is just as horrifying.
