I figured we could keep an ongoing thread pointing out the endless examples that the right views the world from their bubble, as Bill Maher puts it.

My most recent, personal experience of this, was an outraged, furious mini mart store person, who i see daily, slamming the counter when she described the TSA agents who searched 200 returning soldiers from Afghanistan because one of them was found with nail-clippers.

I left the store, came to my office, googled it, got onto factcheck.org, printed the truth that it never happened, that it originated from redstate.com and drove back over and proved it to her to show her that it didnt happen.

Her first reaction was "but I have been stopped before for nail-clippers" - No, I said, you werent , because they allow that

http://www.seatguru.com/articles/tsa_pr ... _items.php

She wasnt lying to me, she just convinced herself it had happened to her so she could tell herself this story was true.

More examples to follow from you all I hope..

(I went on to explain to this woman why they lied about this, that the right doesnt want TSA to have a union, etc)

My liberal mini mart friend and i were talking about stupid sarah and game change, and the question about the queen running GB, the right wing female worker there said "I wouldnt have known that one either" so I turned to her and said "but were you asking the country to put you one heart beat away from being the most powerful person on the planet?"

they dont care, they hate the Black president so much they would accept donald duck as prez...

Go to a dictionary, and show her the words "monarchy" and "democracy". Saudi Arabia is still a monarchy. Britain is a parliamentary democracy. Explain it that way. :D

Britain, Spain, and many other countries are democracies that have kept their monarchs around as figureheads and ceremonial heads of state only. France, Germany, etc. did away with their monarchs.

I know everybody on here knows this, I guess this is part of the reality distortion field/bubble of ignorance we're confronting.

Yeah, it still shocks me that Sarah didn't know who the Allies & Axis were in WW II, what the Federal Reserve is, or who we were fighting in Iraq. What shocks me more is that Alaskans elected this woman their governor.

I thought this was rather bubblicious:

(Snip)At least one donor has said he’s giving simply because he can.

“I’m against very wealthy people attempting to or influencing elections,” Sheldon Adelson, 78, a casino owner whose family has given $11 million to a group support Newt Gingrich’s candidacy, said in a Forbes magazine article posted online Feb. 21. “But as long as it’s doable I’m going to do it.”

Just listening to replay of Thom, he made the challenge for a con to call in and tell him one thing any con has done in 75 yrs for America, the caller called in and rattled of stat after stat, every single one of them wrong or outright lie, but you could tell he believed his set of facts were true...big trouble for our future, he is not alone.

How do you run a campaign, the Obama campaign, when you know the opposition opposes you solely because of the color of your skin and for absolutely no other reason whatsoever.

How do you convince them to vote for you?

You don't.

Some people are just a lost cause.

On a conservative board I saw a Paulbot call Sanatorium, Frothy.

Someone asked, "Who's Frothy?"

The Paulbot said Sanatorium was Frothy.

Several people got pretty darned upset with that Paulbot for suggested that Sanatorium is rabid, has rabies.

No, I didn't tell them, they figured out a first class working definition for "frothy" all by themselves: :D

Definition of RABID:
1. Of or affected by rabies.
2. Raging; uncontrollable: rabid thirst.
3. Extremely zealous or enthusiastic; fanatical:
4. Going to extreme lengths in expressing or pursuing a feeling, interest, or opinion.

Latin rabidus, from rabere, to rave.

well you think about like Emeinem and how the local news media used to beat up on him every chance they got and how a lot of the local stations wouldnt play his music and how he was ignored or despised and picked at, criticized you know none of that stopped him, none of it made him give up, he had this thing going for him that noone could wrestle away from him. that is he believed in himself and worked at it and just kept doing what he does. over time people came round, the local newsmedia trips over themselves to associate themselves with him now. and not to equivocate the two situations but I think thats what you do to be successfull, thats what you do in the face of adversity and whether people come round right away or not just keep plugging away. chipping away chipping away at the stone.

Senator Inhofe Lied To Rachel Maddow About His Knowledge Of Uganda’s Kill The Gays Bill Says Author

Jeff Sharlet Debunks Senator Inhofe's Claim He's Never Heard Of David Bahati Or Uganda's Kill The Gays Bill

It is not possible for these two statements to co-exist. If Senator Inhofe knows Africa well, then he knows David Bahati — and knows about the Uganda Kill The Gays bill — very well. Frankly, millions of Americans know about David Bahati and his Kill The Gays bill, so if Senator Inhofe doesn’t — after spending hundreds of thousands of you tax dollars on trips to Africa and Uganda, then something is desperately wrong and we should immediately stop paying for these excursions.
