Well, good luck. Maybe you can get Jodie Foster to put you in another movie as a mentally deranged loser. It's a role that seems so natural for you.

BTW, this is proof to me that alcohol only brings out what's underneath, as when drunk-Mel confronted the cop.

Joe Eszterhas Explodes at Mel Gibson: 'You Hate Jews' (Exclusive)
http://www.thewrap.com/movies/article/j ... 7?page=0,0

Hollywood screenwriter Joe Eszterhas is accusing Mel Gibson, his recent collaborator on a movie about Jewish revolt, of “hating Jews” and using him to deflect his anti-Semitic reputation.

In an explosive nine-page letter to Gibson obtained by TheWrap (read the full letter here), the screenwriter wrote that the director of “The Passion of the Christ” never intended to make the movie about Jewish heroism, called “The Maccabees.”

Instead, Eszterhas said, Gibson announced the project “in an attempt to deflect continuing charges of anti-Semitism which have dogged you, charges which have crippled your career.”

He added: “I’ve come to the conclusion that the reason you won’t make ‘The Maccabees’ is the ugliest possible one. You hate Jews.”

TheWrap reported earlier that Warner Bros. has put the controversial project on hold, and rejected Eszterhas’s script as lacking in “a sense of triumph.”

A spokesman for Gibson had no immediate comment.

Eszterhas’ letter reveals a more complex dynamic, a disturbing picture of Gibson as a man yet again out of control, inflicting frequent rages on those around him, in the grip of an anti-Semitic obsession, and possibly dangerous to those around him.

On several occasions, said Eszterhas, Gibson “was wild, crazed, and explosive.”

The April 9 letter also recounts Gibson’s threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Gregorieva.

“You were raving at Oksana even after you’d reached a custody agreement over Luci,” their daughter, the letter says. “And then you were even more explicit about your threat: “I’m going to kill her! I’m going to have her killed!” You said you’d become friends with two FBI agents (or former FBI agents) and they were going to help you to kill her.”

Gibson’s anti-Semitic obsession was a leitmotif of working on the film together at Gibson’s homes in Malibu and Costa Rica, Eszterhas said.

"You continually called Jews 'Hebes' and 'oven-dodgers' and 'Jewboys.' It seemed that most times when we discussed someone, you asked 'He’s a Hebe, isn’t he?' You said most 'gatekeepers' of American companies were 'Hebes' who 'controlled their bosses.'"

The slurs continued, through their work:

“You said the Holocaust was 'mostly a lot of horseshit.' You said the Torah made reference to the sacrifice of Christian babies and infants. When I told you that you were confusing the Torah with The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, ... you insisted 'it's in the Torah -- it's in there!' (It isn't)."

And he said Gibson told him that his intention in making “The Maccabees” was “to convert the Jews to Christianity.”

Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder and dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, said he was not surprised by Eszterhas' allegations. Hier has been a critic of Gibson's involvement in the Maccabee project since the film was announced in September.

Here's the little problem with this - at least "inside" the town. Perhaps one of the few folks who have a reputation WORSE than Gibson is Esterhaus. I mean, he is deeply, deeply hated, and widely regarded by insiders as a belligerent, mean, lying sack of shit.

Now, I note that, in his reply, Gibson does not deny ANY of the MANY ugly, anti-Semitic statements attributed to him by Esterhaus. But it's not clear to me whether that's because he basically denies them all, or because he's trying to shrug it off as the sort of things reasonable people say when they're upset. Or perhaps he means to add, "especially when those dirty JEWS are involved!!!"

But Esterhaus has in the past written "public" letters to his then-employers bitterly alleging virtual laundry lists of bad acts, OFTEN including charges not a lot different from those he's making now. And they've been harshly, loudly and publicly refuted and denied. Past targets have trotted out others supposedly in the room at the time to report that the scandalous reports from Esterhaus bare no resemblance to what actually happened.

In short, this is widely sen as a ugly, nasty battle between two pieces of shit. And all either one of them needs to come out at least briefly smelling like a rose, and to have folks rally round them and say, "I supported you all along," is anything resembling a successful movie.

POS or not, Esterhaus' allegations don't surprise me. Gibson has made many similar comments publicly. My question though, why wouldn't Esterhaus have withdrawn collaborating at the FIRST "hebe" or kindred comment by Gibson?

(Snip)LOS ANGELES (AP) — The future of a film about ancient Jewish warrior Judah Maccabee may be close to flickering out.

Warner Bros. spokesman Paul McGuire said Friday that the studio is "analyzing what to do with the project."

The film about the biblical hero was to be a collaboration between producer Mel Gibson and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas. After the studio recently rejected Eszterhas' script, the screenwriter accused Gibson of anti-Semitism in a letter published online. Gibson responded with his own letter denying the allegations.

Esterhaus is now warning Gibson about denying he said the things attributed to him. Esterhaus says he and/or his son recorded some of the rants. "I have tapes!"

But it's still typical Esterhaus that he's now so shocked and offended by Gibson, finds him a lousy human being, only AFTER he's dumped from the project. He was just fine sticking with Gibson - and holding the tapes - as long as the checks cleared.

If these tapes were made in California, which is where both live, not only would releasing them be illegal. Simply making them is illegal, and it IS prosecuted. All parties must be aware of and give permission for audio recording. But I suppose that's why Esterhaus is now also saying that his son "Truly feared for his life" when Gibson was in the house. There's an exception for recording someone believed to be involved in commission of a felony, or words to that effect.

Gibson May Have Found Work!

(Snip)Things are moving steadily forward on Robert Rodriguez' Machete Kills as Deadline reports that Mel Gibson is close to joining the cast and The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Rodriguez hopes to fully direct the sequel to the 2010 film (which he co-directed with Ethan Maniquis).

Gibson's potential role is currently undisclosed but his name has been rumored for some time.

Rodriguez, meanwhile, says that the current plan is to shoot the totality of the sequel himself but that, depending on scheduling with Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, he may turn to another director for help.

"There’s so much of it that I want to direct I’ll probably end up directing the whole thing,” Rodriguez said, “But if I have to step off, I’m going to try and shoot all of the actors and all of the main sequences. But it’s such a fun movie, and it just came out even more fun than I could have
imagined.”

Rodriguez had announced last summer that Machete Kills will include a Grindhouse style trailer for the third (at the moment fictional) entry in the franchise, Machete Kills Again... In Space!.

The new film is said to have Machete (Danny Trejo) teaming with the U.S. Government to take on a Mexican drug cartel and a James Bond-style villain who seeks world domination with a satellite weapon.(Continued)

Sorry to hear there's going to be another Sin City, but the next Machete should be fun.

I don't own a copy but I'd rewatch if I did. Love Danny Trejo. He's like an uncle I never had. I'm related to Carlos Palomino who has done a couple roles on film (Sgt. Turkey in Geronimo) but I'd much rather watch Trejo.

I see right leaning Jay Leno is having Gibson on his show this week, I think Leno is the only one who would still book him, right?

Anyway, I am almost curious enough to watch, but wont.
