Time to get to work

Obama campaign on U-M campus, urges students to make states 'go blue'

Quote:
The re-election campaign of President Barack Obama swooped onto the University of Michigan’s campus today night to prod students to get involved in the upcoming campaign.

“Spring break is over. You’re rested and ready so it’s time to get to work,” said Stephanie Cutter, Obama’s deputy campaign manager. “We’re going to make Michigan blue, Florida blue and Virginia blue. And I know you’ll feel a special sense of satisfaction when we make Ohio go blue.”

The crowd of about 150 students heard the accomplishments of the last four years, including increase in Pell grants for college students, the bailout of the auto industry and the passage of health care reform

“We need to continue this progressive trend that is working to protect folks,” said actor Kal Penn, who was Obama’s youth liaison for two years. “You’re the next generation of workers and voters and we’re hoping that you come out and vote for the president.........

I dont know if this should be here, but if not you can merge it, i wanted one official pinned thread we could bring info into about the campaign.

Anyway, here is what is going to happen:

The right is waiting until the oil speculators drive gas up to over $5 a gallon, they will then unleash the terr, uh I mean right wing talkers, hannity and so on, to go on full daily attack of Obama, that it is his fault the gas prices are high.

They wont do this now, they will wait for a. the price to go higher and they will make sure it does and b. this summer when it is closer to the campaign and the hate they will generate for the Prez, the distrust, etc., will be fresh nearer to the election.

They will bring out one quote, one time where Obama said that overall the best thing that could happen to us as a species is to have gas so expensive we would stop using it and destroying the atmosphere. It will not be played in context, of course, and it will be played over and over to people that arent intelligent enough to understand the whole issue.

Seems like a good idea to have a thread for news and information for Obama supporters. I'll title the other thread Obama 2012 Debate and if anyone wants to argue for or against the campaign it can happen there or be moved there if it starts here. This, like "Accomplishments", can be kept pure as an informational resource rather than a debate topic. I've already moved MC's OP post here since it fits the plan.

Citing Shared Values, AFL-CIO Unions Vote to Endorse Obama for Second Term

President Obama honors the values of hard work, of mutual respect and of solving problems together—not every person for himself or herself. He believes that together we will get through the most challenging economic crisis in memory and restore opportunity for all. Each of the Republican presidential candidates, on the other hand, has pledged to uphold the special privileges of Wall Street and the 1%—privileges that have produced historic economic inequality and drowned out the voices of working people in America.

Snip.

The Road We've Traveled

A 17 minuet video "Let's remember how far we've come and look forward to the work still to be done,” Tom Hanks says.

Said another way: Come on, guys. It could be worse.

It kind of got to me. I was sort of moved, was feeling both happy and sad; kind of almost about to cry.

President Obama hosted a campaign event at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, GA on Friday, March 16. My sarcastic politics website, Prune Juice Media, was invited to cover the fundraiser which I thought was pretty cool!

If you saw the 2012 State of the Union Address, then you saw at least some of his speech. The president is getting into full campaign mode. They even showed the 17-minute video that someone posted earlier in this thread. Team Obama is pulling out all the stops this election cycle.

Watch my account of how I got to the fundraiser:

What?! What kind of Moooslum is Obama?! Moooslums aren't allowed to drink beer! He's unworthy to be President for not following the tenants of his faith!
