Chris Wallace, however, wanted McConnell to explain exactly what alternatives the Republicans have for covering uninsured Americans after the health care law is repealed, with McConnell saying at one point “that is not the issue.”

Well, at least the little fucker spoke the truth, finally...to them, it has nuthin' to do with the uninsured. Douche nozzle.

xoxox

Frank Lutz hasn't told them what to say yet. Given their stunned surprise over the decision, and with McConnell having already booked the appearance with the expectation that he'd spend the interview spiking the ball, his plan B was to simply deflect and distract with the familiar handful of bumper sticker aphorisms. But that prick Wallace - with the implicit approval of Rupert who has apparently concluded Mitt won't win - turned traitor (just like that asshole Roberts) - insisted on an answer.

Give it a week or two. Lutz is polling now.

These guys are pros so you'd think they would have a plan b. Not the g-no-p! They just knew this was in the bag and got caught with their pants down, big time! I mean, did you hear the crap that came from their pie holes? They got caught so flat footed, they were back to death panels!

And back to playing words games with tax vs penalty. "Well, the supreme court said it was a tax". Absolute dullards. Fills me with the urge to invoke a second amendment solution.

I havent read the board in days, on a trip, so I am sure this is already here, but the reason roberts calls it a tax is to reverse it in reconciliation later...

that way he can allegedly maintain the courts independence and still kill the bill later...

anyway, I love watching these morons running around like chickens with their heads cut off saying the biggest tax in history, that an armed insurrection is necessary, etc.

look, they are still pissed at ONE thing and ONE thing only, Black Man in White House.

I've heard that theory but I'm not certain that it has much validity. The ACA got through the Senate by way of reconciliation because it had a budgetary impact. It could certainly be repealed the same way for the same reason. So Roberts could have called it a tax or he could have called it Sue and it wouldn't have mattered. He largely was able to rule that it was legal under taxing authority because the administration submitted that as an argument, so you'd have to blame the President as much as Roberts for that call.

That tax meme will likely reappear, but only once they have all met, haggled and agreed on their tactics/strategy forward. Now, it doesn't help that Romney's spokesman and the RNC have decided to agree the fee is NOT a tax - necessary in order to thwart accusation Mitt imposed such a "tax" in Mass.

But the "super PACs" will have no problem asserting that it's a tax, making Obama guilty of imposing an "all-time, world record, high tax," even though it's not a tax, and if it were it still wouldn't approach higher taxes imposed by many others before Obama. (Per Ezra Klein, it would rank # 10 among the top 20 tax hikes imposed over the last 50 years, with 8 of the other 9 - including # 1 - having been imposed by Republicans.)

In any case, the "it's a tax!" accusation will return, but only as one cog in a better organized and planned strategy. Of course, THAT plan will be blasted to pieces when next Mitt says something stupid, or more about his record is exposed to light.

In an interview with CBS News, Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential candidate Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA), has said that she doesn’t believe that the campaign to re-elect President Barack Obama is playing fair, and that their only campaign philosophy is “Let’s kill this guy.” The former Massachusetts First Lady was sitting next to her husband at their summer vacation compound, an $8 million estate that includes a $640,000 boat house on New Hampshire’s Lake Winnipesaukee.

“I feel like all he’s doing is saying, ‘Let’s kill this guy,” she told reporter Jan Crawford while pointing to her husband, “And I feel like that’s not really a very good campaign policy.” Snip....

Reagan-appointed judge: Republican ‘lunatics’ made me less conservative
By David Edwards

Link

Quote:
A well-respected judge who was appointed to the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals by President Ronald Reagan says that he has become less conservative because of “crackpots” and “lunatics” in the Republican Party.

In an interview with NPR on Thursday Judge Richard Posner said that “right-wingers” were making a serious mistake by attacking Chief Justice John Roberts for siding with liberals and upholding President Barack Obama’s health care reform law.

“Because if you put [yourself] in his position, what’s he supposed to think?” Posner wondered. “That he finds his allies to be a bunch of crackpots? Does that help the conservative movement? I mean, what would you do if you were Roberts? All the sudden you find out that the people you thought were your friends have turned against you, they despise you, they mistreat you, they leak to the press.”

“What do you do? Do you become more conservative? Or do you say, ‘What am I doing with this crowd of lunatics?’ Right? Maybe you have to re-examine your position.”

He added: “I’ve become less conservative since the Republican Party started becoming goofy.”

My wife wishes she hadnt told me what her friend said about Michelle, that she looks like a gorilla and is ugly...

Friend is a loose word here, my wife doesnt have the assertive nature to cut her off, but I do...

I have disowned people like this already, and now when I go to Safeway I have to avoid saying hello to this bigot moron, kinda easy for me to do...I dont ignore her if she says hello, but when I respond I am swearing under my breath...
