I love him, and I think his show is the best late night (although Kimmel is growing on me)

But when i watch Dave I see a guy who doesnt really wanna be there, he on occasion shows interest in what is happening if the guest is a friend or icon that he admires like this week when Al Pacino was on and Kevin Spacey came in and did his Pacino impression, good stuff.

I also get a kick out of Letterman trying to show interest in a rock n roll band, younger ones, that he obviously could care less about, it reminds me of Sullivan and The Beatles.

Again, I love Dave and it is a fantasy of mine that someday for some reason I could be a guest on his show, but it is time for him to go.

a funny and liberal person needs to take over, so who could that be?

So he's not dropping watermelons off a rooftop anymore. Dave does have the best show. Replacement? GP and the Fergs. This, imo, was one of those classic TV moments. One of those Steve Allen moments.

Until that day the robot was, robotic and had never made the Harmonica sound.

BTW, Dave is a class act. When he does retire, he won't stab his replacement in the back like a certain chinned sob did.

Why should he quit? Shoot, from what I've seen, he'd doing the same stuff as always, just with new twists.

He's always supported acts that obviously were generations separate from him. lol I remember once he had Billy Idol on his show...who appeared to be in a drugged out coma...Dave made the most of it, saying, "we probably wouldn't be the type of guys who'd hang out together, right?" :D

I do miss him having Cher or Shirley MacLain on his show who ended up calling him an "asshole" and walking off stage. lol

I can't understand why he should quit,,,and in so far as who could replace him, it is late at night after all, and with the recent switch over to digital broadcast and band splitting making three channels possible on just one channels bandwidth, I cant see why anyone who could replace him shouldn't have their own late night show, too, whole bunches of late night shows.

I go to bed about 9:30. :|
