Finally got my new 'puter and in playing with it I wandered back to webisodes from years past. One of my favorite web-only series is The Guild created by Felicia Day. It follows the lives of 5 players of an MMORPG known only as The Game. But rather than being about the game it is really about how 5 different types of basically anti-social personalities manage to build relationships together and come out from their various dark holes.

In returning to The Guild I found that the show that had barely started season 3 last time I had the time to watch it had just completed season 5 and in addition to Wil Wheaton who had joined the cast for the 3rd season there were now celebrity appearances galore. Here's part of season 5 that stands up pretty well even without knowing the characters.

Another big surprise in getting back to The Guild was finding now that Felicia has expanded her efforts and mustered all the creative talent she's so good at bringing together into a whole YouTube channel of online-only projects from many people you might already know well. Here's the very latest, Written By A Kid, where a child tells a story and amazing talents like Dave Foley and Joss Whedon bring it to life:

‘Arrested Development’ begins filming today in L.A.!

Deadline has good news for Arrested Development fans, filming for the show’s upcoming season officially began today!

They are also reporting the entire cast of the original series is in final negotiations and is expected to return, including Michael Cera and Ron Howard, as the show’s narrator.

The 10-eposide season will debut on Netflix next year and, if it is a success, another season may follow. Each episode will primarily focus on one member of the Bluth family and what they’ve been up to since the show went off the air in 2006.(continued)

I do love me some Felicia Day. And I did belong to a guild once whose leader was very Vork-like. Oh the drama!
