I vaguely remember an old car one of my uncles had that had two floor switches like that. One, the standard dimmer switch and the other...I can't remember what it was for.

Old cars, trucks, and tractors had a 100 amp floor board starter switch instead of having a 100 amp relay under the hood.

Yes! It was a starter switch.

That was back in the days when Bluetooth meant you should see a dentist. Fast.

Yes, those old full service gas station/auto mechanic devices used to blend dust, grit, and dirt, into clean engine oil.

Once the plastic oil bottles with the sealed pour necks came out, car engines started lasting about two to three times longer.

Yeah, but you could pour out a beer in less than two seconds with one.

The ice cube trays I grew up with were metal but didn't even have that lever to loosen the cubes, so we had to run water over them, turn them upside down and gently twist the whole tray.

Yups! Except when we used it, when I was a kid, it was a deep yellow color, it was tincture of iodine that was red.

Main reason us kids back then preferred mercurochrome was it didn't sting. Iodine stung like crazy.
