When a person puts their own foot in their mouth EVERY time they open it, then it's no longer a blunder or a gaffe, but a unique handicap, possibly a form of mental illness. Mentally ill people certainly should be sympathized with, like any other handicap. But please, let us NEVER again, elect the Village Idiot for President of the US.

It's interesting that Americans are making a big fuss over Romney's comments. This is just how everyone outside the US expects Americans to behave when visiting.

To borrow a line from Politico's Martin Lewis "WHAT A PILE OF MITT"!
Mitt has created an INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT and disgraced this country, to the point where the London mayor and the Prime Minister, as well as tons of the London press, HAS CALLED HIS SORRY SNOB ASS OUT! Somewhere, Willard is looking for that door Dubya couldn't find over there in Europe, when he couldn't get out of an F-UP.
Hey Mittens, how's that Anglo Saxon relationship thing working out?
WHAT A PILE OF MITT, now trending world wide!!!!!!

Keep this in mind: If the Olympics are trouble-plagued, if there are a lot of blunders, even unconnected to the narrow specifics Romney mentioned, he will be hailed in the US as Truth-Speaker. What the UK thinks of him won't matter. And be assured - as has been the case during Olympics held ANYWHERE during a Dem. President's tenure, there will be Righty bitching about how they've been less glamorous, less spectacular than they were during a Republican's term.

Next, never mind that the reality is that the current government in White Hall is remarkably close to that Romney aspires to. To the conventional Republican voter, them limey brits are a bunch of pantywaists. (The Blitz? That's a football play, right?) Europe as a whole is LIBERAL!!! So their disapproval just continues to feed Romney's base.

The astounding thing to me - an overall truth about Romney's campaign - is what a lousy candidate he is. It never fails to amaze me how he can start with an entirely appropriate, even accurate observation, and turn it into a gaffe. The average 5 year old is better at crafting a truthful yet diplomatic statement than Romney is.

Hey, we've ALL seen the stories about the security contractor who fucked up and fell short by several thousand the number of security agents they could provide, compared to what they promised. I love the story about the 80 guards scheduled to work at one venue, and only TWO actually showed up, and one of the two was fired because he was carrying marijuana.

But even the dumbest, most ignorant candidate for Mayor in a small town has the basic skills necessary to publicly mention "challenges" without crossing the line and saying they are "disconcerting." The ego, the arrogance that keeps him from sticking to the script, is amazing. Be assured, I'd rip him up one side and down the other if he DID skip to a script. But I wouldn't have the daily, almost hourly hand-holds and foot-holds provided by this fuckin' moron.

Boris Johnson Rips Mitt Romney At Rally
Boris Johnson, Mayor Of London, Rips Mitt Romney At Rally - Video, At a boisterous pre-Olympics rally on Thursday, London's mayor, Boris Johnson, ridiculed the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for his remarks questioning the city's readiness for the games. "People are coming from around the world and they're seeing us," Johnson told the estimated 60,000-person crowd, who had gathered to mark the end of the Olympic Torch relay. "They are seeing the greatest city in the world!" He then turned his comments to Romney. "There are some people who are coming from around the world who don't yet know about all the preprations we've done to get London ready in the last seven years," he said. "I heard there's a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we're ready. Are we ready? Yes we are!" To top it off, Johnson finished his appearance by leading the crowd in a chant of 'Yes We Can,' President Barack Obama's famous campaign slogan from 2008. "Can we put on the greatest Olympics games that have ever been held?" he asked. "Can we beat France? Yes we can! Can we beat Australia? Yes we can!" (more)

"The Nation Of Great Britain"

That was Romney's phrase. No such nation exists. The nations of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are all nations under the United Kingdom (since 1800). It's always a good idea when visiting a country to call it by its rightful name. Mitt's total cluelessness abroad is as striking to me as the vacuousness of his foreign policy "ideas". I bet you his Likudnik madness on Greater Israel didn't go down well in Downing Street either.

I already know what Romney will say when he gets to Israel; and President Obama just flatly disproved it before he even got there.

http://www.jpost.com/DiplomacyAndPoliti ... ?id=279161

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama signed a bill on Friday to strengthen US-Israeli military ties as he sought to reassure American Jewish voters of his commitment to the two countries' close alliance on the eve of a visit to Israel by his Republican rival, Mitt Romney.

Obama used a White House ceremony to announce the United States would soon provide Israel with an additional $70 million in funding for its short-range rocket shield known as "Iron Dome," a project strongly backed by the powerful US pro-Israel lobby.

His focus on strengthening cooperation with Israel appeared timed to upstage Romney, who has accused the president of undermining Washington's relationship with its number one partner in the Middle East.

Romney, whose Olympics-week visit to London has been plagued by diplomatic stumbles, will travel on Saturday to Israel, a stop his aides hope will resonate with Jewish voters at home.

He is expected to hold talks on Sunday with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who has had a strained relationship with Obama.

As Obama signed the bill at his desk in the Oval Office, he said it underscored his administration's "unshakeable commitment" to Israel's security. Congress passed the legislation last week with broad support from Republicans and Obama's Democrats.

"I have made it a top priority for my administration to deepen cooperation with Israel across a whole spectrum of security issues," Obama said in the Oval Office.

He was flanked by US Senator Barbara Boxer and Congressman Howard Berman, the bill's sponsors, and several prominent Jewish leaders, including Lee Rosenberg, chairman of AIPAC, the leading pro-Israel lobby, and Richard Stone, chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

Obama, criticized by some of Israel's US supporters for being too tough on a close ally, wants to shore up his support among Jewish voters, who could prove critical in battleground states like Florida and Pennsylvania in the Nov. 6 election.
