Issa Bows to Rush

I've seen a lot of flip floppers and I thought McCain on DADT was good and even "I am a maverick, I never said I was a Maverick' were giggily but this guy takes the cake so far.

Of course it is the start of the new congress so I guess we can expect more exceptional quality.....

I'll bet you didn't see this one coming:

With the strong backing of the tea party movement, Maine Gov.-elect Paul LePage (R) rode a wave of discontent over bull semen taxes to a surprising victory last month, telling President Obama to “go to to hell” and warning a reporter that he would punch him in the face. On the campaign trail, LePage raged against a what he considered a corrupt state government and “pledged to surround himself with ‘the best and the brightest’ and to avoid political cronyism.” But on Thursday, LePage announced that he had hired his own 22-year-old daughter for a position in the “upper echelon of his administration,” with a salary of $41,000, the Bangor Daily News reports.

Maine Democrats Executive Director Mary Erin Casale called the hiring a “brazen display of political nepotism,”

Fred Upton (R-MI 6)

April 2009:Climate change is a serious problem that necessitates serious solutions.

= http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/2010/ ... te/January 2010: No matter what we did between now and 2050, it, there was no real science to verify that it would reduce the temperature rise that some predicted. And that’s why we do need hearings.

December 2010: Moreover, the principal argument for a two-year delay is that it will allow Congress time to create its own plan for regulating carbon. This presumes that carbon is a problem in need of regulation. We are not convinced.

He's also promised under his committee chairmanship to repeal a ban on low efficiency incandescent bulbs that he helped write and pass over a year ago.

Paying attention, Tea Partiers?

Haley Approves Huge Salary Increases

With her state facing an estimated $1 billion budget shortfall, S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley handed out huge salary increases to top gubernatorial staffers on her first full day in office. She also doled out big salaries to newly-created positions within the governor’s office

What do you think of Nikki Haley's staff salaries?

U don't even no how bad they are playing u.

American taxpayers should not foot the bill for infrastructure improvements around the country, the new White House chief of staff said recently.

Daley, a former Wall Street executive who opposed two of President Obama's major initiatives, said that investment for US infrastructure could instead come from private sources both foreign and domestic.

"That's a creative way to move forward," he said.

Mitt Romney rewrites his autobiography to better match Tea Party mood

The paperback edition of "No Apology" no longer likes the stimulus, really hates "Obamacare"

Mitt Romney is the most nakedly, obviously, transparently phony politician in the nation, and you almost have to admire him for it. He will say anything to get elected president. He is on both sides of every issue. He's so awful at pretending to be a True Conservative Populist Dingbat, but so convinced that a pragmatic blue-state moderate Republican is unelectable, that if it weren't for his hundreds of millions of dollars you might feel bad for him.

So the paperback version of his book "No Apology" is out, and he has excised and altered various passages that he had originally included in order to make himself look like a moderate pragmatist, because he realized that "Tea Parties" are still in fashion.

As the Boston Phoenix reports, there are two significant changes: The book no longer offers even a qualified defense of the stimulus, and now it makes sure the reader knows that Mitt Romney really hates "Obamacare," even though it's basically a national version of Mitt Romney's Massachusetts healthcare plan.

First this:

Quote:
"Israel is a colonialist-imperialist phenomenon. There is no such thing as an Israeli people. Before 1948, world geography knew of no state such as Israel. Israel is the result of an invasion, of aggression."[99]

Then this:

Chadian-Libyan conflict

He BRUTALIZED the Chadians.

Once upon a time, Dick Lugar proudly said he wasn't going to be bullied by the GOP's teahadist wing. He even said he'd oppose the House GOP's spending cut bill.

Then he got a teahadist challenger.

And now he's flip-flopped on the GOP's spending cut package:

An Epic Flip Flop

"Exercise a no-fly zone this evening, communicate to the Libyan military that Gadhafi was gone and that the sooner they switch sides, the more like they were to survive, provided help to the rebels to replace him. I mean, the idea that we're confused about a man who has been an anti-American dictator since 1969 just tells you how inept this administration is."

-- Newt Gingrich on March 7 explaining what he would do in Libya.

"Let me draw the distinction. I would not have intervened. I think there were a lot of other ways to affect Qaddafi. I think there are a lot of other allies in the region we could have worked with. I would not have used American and European forces."

The astonishing thing about THIS flip-flop is that it's being covered extensively by virtually all of the MSM, from the AP, to CBS. I've seen at least a half dozen stories on this - virtually all of them headlined something like "Gingrich Flip Flops...Again."

This miserable POS has obviously made a LOT of enemies over the years, and there's no shortage of those eager to pick at his bones.

Works for me!

Earlier this year, Rhode Island House Minority Leader Robert A. Watson (R) garnered attention when he made insensitive remarks about the General Assembly’s work at a meeting of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce. Watson stated, “I suppose if you’re a gay man from Guatemala who gambles and smokes pot, you probably think that we’re onto some good ideas here.” He was quickly forced to apologize.

Yet last Friday Watson’s bigoted comment took an ironic twist. The state lawmaker was pulled over at a routine police checkpoint in East Haven, Connecticut. Police quickly arrested him when he appeared to be driving under the influence and possessing marijuana.
